So I was bored & had a play in the shed

Post by Squiggle » April 15th, 2016, 1:51 am

Well, I scored an air compressor tank for $1 yesterday & I decided to let my imagination go & see what happens. This is what I came up with, hope you guys like it. :kewl:

First I had to cut all the bits & pieces off.

Then I cleaned it all up & cut the end off

I also cut off an extra ring.
image.jpg
I cut some 15mm tube & welded a piece to the side of each part
image.jpg
I welded some 40mm box to the bottom as legs
image.jpg
I welded in a piece of 15mm rod to the tube on the bottom
image.jpg
I had a piece of 3mm perforated stainless spare so I cut a circle & welded it to the ring
image.jpg
I lit a nice fire to burn all the crap off the inside & she's ready to cook the snags for the kids while we have some nice smokey ribs tomorrow night

Cool! When I first got hold of a welder I kept looking around for sh*t I could play with.

If it's tourist season, how come I can't shoot 'em?

Yeah dude, it really wasn't that much work. When I put my mind to something I usually fly through it, gets annoying sometimes cause I finish project too quickly, then I just have to find another one, can't stand sitting around doing nothing. lol. :kewl:

You don't have to worry about running out of something to work on if you build a ver involved smoker. That stuff takes a while.

Making memories.

Ooooooo, FrankenSmoker sounds like a cool idea. I might see what I can come up with when the mini GF is done, & yeah I know what you mean RC, except for the budget, I would be totally consumed by the GF & working on it every day. :kewl:
