Recessed Temp Gauge in Door

Post by Texasbowhunter » December 8th, 2017, 12:33 pm

I noticed a member in the past had a Temp Gauge that was recessed in the face of his door...
This look was in a topic I can no longer find where the member used the cleavers as handles and powder coated the body in a RED and the door in Black...
Thought the look was very cool
How was this accomplished
Might consider it if its something in my realm of beginner expertize...

I don't remember the thread you mention, maybe they will see this and share it here.
hawever, if you want to do this, get the next size bigger chunk of pipe than the dial of your thermometer and cut a short chunk. or you can use a short chunk of strap and roll it. then cope it to fit the inside of your door. cut out the hole in the door, and cover the back of the strap with plate. then weld it to your door.

:yth: I believe that was Richb build if I'm not mistaken. You can search his name and find the build to see if he mentioned how he done it. It isn't that hard to do like Frank said, it just takes a little time to make it look right.
