Got most of the skins on. Puff i used rivets and fireplace caulk 500 deg. Probably didn't need the Fire caulk I just wanted make sure it was all air tight in the insulated areas.

In scouting for supplies like handles and hinges, do yours have any nylon or plastic inside.. I found some steel and die cast chrome but the 5/16 pin is set into nylon bushings. Not sure how a hot spot will effect that design.

I don't see the outside getting too hot. The hinges i have on there do have nylon inserts.Time will tell.

What kind of paint did you use... Nice gloss.
By the way. This smoker holds over 120 lbs of ribs ... Look at what we did today . A 6lb turkey breast! Lots of heat lots of fire....1 turkey

Nope...not me, I enjoy seeing the process and finished product and you have done one great job. Have you any experience with the paint discoloring around the hotter spots below?

I fired it yesterday for the first time . I didn't notice any issues yet. there is only one hot spot and that's on the burn side. probably about 12" in diameter. the rest of it was room temperature. Looks like its going to be a winner. now i have to tame this beast. thanks for all the good praise.

Lazy Dave's UDS first time build, 12vdc PID temperature controller with 12vdc fan will run off a solar/car battery setup when camping.

It's my first time post pictures, but are a few picture of my piper PIPER PA-34-200 Seneca airplane smoker. During this entente did 40 turkey legs, Chicken, burger, and a couple of pizzas.
