Pecans shells?

Post by Weldun » January 5th, 2016, 9:59 pm

Like most of you on here my mind never idles and I'm always thinking, as many of you can probably relate sometimes what seems like a good idea turns out otherwise. I was thinking that since my mom has pecan trees and has a machine that shells her pecans as well as customers, a result of this is she generates a very large quantity of pecan shells. Is there any smoking value in pecan shells?

I've used pistachio shells that we saved for cold smoking cheese and have had terrific results. I'd imagine as a fruit wood component, it would be a great idea. ...but you may find using it as a supplemental smoke in a tray or tube will provide the best smoke for the burn rate.

Make no mistake, there ain't no powder in this Puff ! And... I'm not really a crazy person but I play one in real life
