Ports on 250 gallon tank

Post by Razorok » September 23rd, 2019, 6:27 pm

What is the best way to deal with the ports on a 250 gallon tank? Do people just cut them out and throw a patch over the hole? Thank you for passing on the wisdom.

If you have them on the bottom you can toss a plug in them...if not cut them out and patch over them. It is a cleaner look to remove them.

If you have a scrap/cut-off from the tank, use it for the patch material as the contour will match.

Yep what those guys said^^^
I have used a press to make plugs with the same radius and cut out the holes to be square with square patches.
Bevel the edges so you can grind the welds flat.
