UDS Charcoal Start-up

Post by jabbey71 » December 21st, 2015, 3:56 am

I've been using my UDS and enjoying it. I been using about half chimney to get it started and pouring them in the center of my basket when fully lit. I've only used it several times for short length cooks but going to smoke a boston butt on it for Christmas. What will be the best way to light it up so that I can get the extended burn time or should I just keep pouring my pre-lit coals in the center or spread all around on top. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
