OK - Truth be told, I am not the most mechanically inclined person. So I am having the fabrication and welding done on my UDS by someone else for free (favors owed from previous). Anyway, I finally picked up my drum this morning and the inlet nipples were not as I requested (2.5" up from the bottom vs the 2.00" requested). No biggie. However when they welded the exhaust to my lid they WARPED it. So my question is how do I go about fixing it? I do not want to clamp the C-ring on it, unless that is the absolute last resort. Any and all feed back is appreciated.
Gracias,
JT

Re: WARPED LID
How bad is it warped? Can you push it down enough to make it seal. Or the other option, find a weber lid. Post a pic if you can so we can check it out.

Re: WARPED LID
SFF nailed it. Go weber and don't look back.
BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

Re: WARPED LID
I'll have to test fit it when I get home, just to see how bad it really is. I'd go the weber lid route, but finding a lid is not an easy task out here in CA. Hopefully I can get the warped one to work.

Re: WARPED LID
Start haunting the want ads for garage sales. You'll be surprised how many kettles are for sale out there.
And on the eighth day God created barbecue …. because he DOES love us and he wants us to be happy.
