Glad to be of assistance, Buddy!

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

Put the lid together and sealed the rim with silicone.

Now that's a great build it never occurred to me to use the bottom of Weber kettle grill. Thank you for sharing with all of us.

How does it cook? Does it get enough heat to fill that big dome.

I was looking for a 22" Chinese Wok. Most of them are carbon steel so I'm not sure how they would work.

They probably are too thin as well.

Carbon steel is what most smokers are made of. In this purpose I believe the the Weber dome works best top or bottom.

Scuttlebutt is,if your drum has a removable lid, you flip the drum over and the Weber lid fits the bottom perfect.
That allows you to have an easy access to clean the ashes out.

Frank, any idea if the hinge from UDSparts.com would fit with that kettle bottom? How bout the kettle top?
I want to use a kettle bottom. If it's not a direct bolt on, I wonder if it can be modified...

I really don't know. I would assume the WSM version would fit best. you can easily modify it tho...
