Greetings from SE PA

Post by TJM79 » January 11th, 2019, 8:31 pm

Greetings all. My name is Tyson. New to the forum but been reading for a while. I’m here in Lancaster County PA getting ready to build my first RF smoker. I’m an avid griller/smoker and roast at least one pig a year. I’m saving the pig cooker for my second build. Also make my own booze and will try just about any project once. Just started welding on my own after getting a mig welder for Christmas. This will be a first project on many levels. But working with metal has become a new favorite hobby.

Picking up a 275 gallon oval oil tank tomorrow to build my first smoker. Was debating what to start with but my uncle found basically a brand new tank for a great price....free. Haha. I just have to drive a couple hours to get it. Figured it was worth a tank of gas and a family visit.

I have my basic plan and measurements figured. Need to finalize FB size but have steel and fab yard local to Cut the 1/4” plate. So I’ll likely start a new thread in the proper room but can’t wait to
Get his started. Look foreword to all the input and continued ideas from the forum.

Cheers,

Tyson

Welcome to the crew. Look forward to your build.

Learning generally boils down to "Repetition or the avoidance of pain", some people learn by doing, some by watching and some just have to pee on the electric fence.

Whether you think that you can, or that you can't, you are usually right. Henry Ford

Thank you all. Looking forward to it. Just got the tank home. No rust or rot. Gonna snow tonight so see some garage time in the near future.
