Thanks Solo!
I would be happy to help any way I can.
Maybe DC could bring a little to the gatherin' - I could try some there... ?

I'm thinking maybe a disclaimer: "No Boo Boos were harmed in the research & developement of this product"
Hmmm or Perhaps: "This product has been declared Boo Boo friendly by SmokerBuilder.com"
kind-a like a free plug for Frank
help the site anyway I can

If it can't be smoked .... try frying it. It that don't work, it's probably best just left alone

Now that's a logo I want to see - "Boo Boo friendly - smokerbuilder.com"
Sorry solo - I' know I'm not being helpful, but I am cracking myself up ;)
I'd love to try your sauce, but I'm not a heat guy anymore - I did all the heat damage my body can tolerate in College during Inter-Fraternity Buffalo Wing wars. Those were not Boo Boo friendly events!

Re: So I made a little Hot Sauce
Solo, That soldier handled all that we threw at it.
The only negative, I got was the shaker top would get stopped up easily. But as we used the sauce it wasnt as bad. My guess is that the air space let the big particles move away easier as we shook the bottle.
The finger sample was conducted by several, and was well received. The flavor of the stand alone sauce was great, all of those trying it liked it. The heat is not over powering, and doesnt make you forget the flavor. One tester kind off missed the insert finger part, and basicallly slathered the sauce on their lips. That tester had a small fire going, but nothing a couple of refreshments couldnt fix!
Our Friday menu was ham and beans. The sauce mixed in well and added some heat, but didnt really change the flavor of the beans.
On Saturday we had fried fish, fried taters and onions, with all the fixins. The fish was farm raised catfish. The sauce went great withe the fried food. It added a little smokeyness to it, and also some heat. (We use plain batter mix, no s&p.)
Sunday was the whole hog roast. For those that have cooked a whole hog, you know that the best part of the process is cutting and pulling the pork. I set the bottle on the table with us, and made the rule, that if you want a sample of the hog, you had to try the sauce. (exception: Grandma, it is her farm, and she gets what she wants when she wants it!)
Needless to say I got several reviews. I got very good feed back from this. "Wow, no vinegar taste", "Smokey with nice heat at the end", "It made me sweat, but didnt set me on fire". One tester told me that this would go great on a Ritz cracker. I laughed, but come to find out, crackers and hot sauce is a favorite snack of his. (must go good with beer!) These are just a few of the comments that stuck out. I watched a couple of the testers, use it like sauce on their pork when we sat down to eat.
I did mix it with a commercial bbq sauce, that was pretty sweet to start with. I used about a cup of bbq sauce, and five good dashes of your sauce and got a great flavor with good heat.
The average heat was 3 to 3.5, on a scale of 1 to 5.
When you start selling this let me know, I definetly got a couple of customers for you, besides me!
Thanks for the samples, your sauce is great!

Re: So I made a little Hot Sauce
Wish I had you guys for testers back when I was developing my other sauces. Based onwhat I have heard I'm going to leave the flavor profile alone as well as the heat mix and just work on the texture. If I burn up a blender in the process then I may end up forcing the sauce through a metal sieve. Worst case scenerio I remove the shaker to all together.
I'll repost for any other takers when that time rolls around.

Thanks for the diverse feedback ... I'm going to chalk up this round as a win. When I get the kinks (or chunks) worked out I'll send out another batch. Rick I have you on that list for sure and assuming I have Boo Boo liability insurance TQ will get a sample at that time to.Smokeone wrote:The average heat was 3 to 3.5, on a scale of 1 to 5

Re: So I made a little Hot Sauce
Forgot to mention, the sauce went awesome in bloody mary's and bloody beer. No need for two or three things to add, just a couple of dashes of Stokin Sauce, did the trick!
