step bit

is there a particular step drill bit that you guys would recommend? I'm gonna use it to make a new UDS. Last time I used a 1" hole saw and haven't been happy with the results. I feel my pipe nipples aren't as secure as they could be. Thanks

I use an Irwin from Lowes. I only used it on one UDS, but it worked fine, and is still sharp as can be.

Thank you. The downside to all this is that I live in Mississippi and the Lowes near me has VERY limited inventory as far as "specialized tools" goes. The nearest home Depot is about 50 miles. Don't move to Mississippi guys.

I use the harbour freight ones they are cheap and if used properly work just fine, when they are worn out throw away and buy another.
