Idea's???

Postby Bobby Collins » May 15th, 2012, 7:26 am

I have a propane tank that is 30" X 120". Should I cut it in half and make two smokers? But have them both on the same trailer? :exp: Or make just one big ?

I think it depends on your plan. Two seperate cookers on the same trailer can be nice. Maybe one a smoker, one a grill or rotisserie. As Frank siad,I'm going with one long unit that is split by an internal divider. It is going to be huge! My thought is either way will work, trailer size may dictate. I am using a 16' x 78" trailer. With the long unit I can get the balance I want, and have plenty of room to get around the cooker. (i will cook from ground) With two seperate floor space would be at a premium, especially trying to control tongue weight and balance.

The other obvious consideration is money. With two you can do one now and the other later, if need be.

Whatever you deicde have fun, and remember as soon as you are done you will think of something else. It just keeps going! :P

Cant wait to see what you do! :-)
BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

If you make one smoker your firebox will be huge.....I like the idea of making a smoker on one and grill with the other....very versitle....
If you can't fix it by sheer force or cursing......then it can't be fixed.....

I think I'll try the two for one deal. One smoker and one grill. I have a camper that I will use the chassis from. It is 16'X32' camper frame that is a double axle. It should be a real nice build. What do you think? :kewl:

How many springs or big is the axel do you know by chance?
It sounds big enough for sure....but can it handle the weight?

Not sure. But I'll find out and get back to you on that. It's a massive pull type camper that they are on.
