Brick smoker with an offset chamber

Post by jvjv » May 25th, 2020, 4:12 pm

Hello all,
New to the board. There's some great stuff here!
I'm currently designing a brick smoker - I see that most brick smokers are vertical designs. Is there any reason one can't build an offset smoker, provided you're using the proper dimensions i.e. the Feldon's BBQ pit calculator?

Cheers!

Welcome aboard! You can build it with whatever materials that you want as long as it's built to the correct dimensions. Some materials are easier to work with and some last longer than others. Be sure to post some pictures of what you build so others can learn from your build. We usually learn a lot of what not to do along the journey of building a smoker.

Anything is possible. Heat soaking into the bricks may rob you of temps........you could build it like the pizza ovens that insulate the cook chamber and brick over the insulation so your not heating up the entire stone work.

We want pics!!!!!!
