Very nice.
Learning generally boils down to "Repetition or the avoidance of pain", some people learn by doing, some by watching and some just have to pee on the electric fence.

First sorry to take so long to respond. 1st Its not for cooking if that's what your asking. But once the lava rock gets hot after a few minutes. It puts off a lot of heat. So its a functional fire pit. What I thought was cool is how quite it is.Joson wrote:Is this functional or it is only esthetic because it is unreal. Great job

Re: gas fire ring
Really neat idea. How did you determine the size and number of holes in the gas tubes?

Re: gas fire ring
Just seen your question. I used self taping zip screws as drill bits because I didn't want to dull my drill bits. And that is how I pick how big the holes were going to be. I just layed out some holes drilled them then added some more till I got the amount of fire I was looking for. I figured worst case I would half to weld the holes shut and start over.
The coolest thing is once you cover it with lava rock it's a completely different looking flame. Placing the rock on the holes changes the flame. After a short time the rock cranks out the heat when standing next to it
