Discada steel guage?

Postby Rick » February 16th, 2012, 1:23 pm

What gauge steel should I use for the floor of the diving board and fence on my discada?
The disk is prolly 9 or 10 gauge
I was thinkin' maybe 14 gauge fence and floor - should be plenty stout when welded up...
Let me know what you think...

I'll put in my 3 cents here, I used around 10 ga. for the board and 1/8 x 1in for the fence. I'm not as young as I use to be and I didn't want it to be to heavy. That has worked on both of them I have built so far. I don't see why a guy would want a real heavy diving board for one thing it could make the disk tip because of the weight, and you don't have any heat out that far anyway. Mine stay level all the time. :violin:
