Hey K.A.M., can you point me in the right direction to find some of those grate thermometers you are talking about? And do you use those during a cook or just for set up purposes.

PoP54, the oven grate thermometers are readily available at places like Walmart, and larger grocery stores. They are usually in the cooking utensil areas.
I do use them during cooks on cookers that I am not familiar with to get a feel for how they cook.
Here are some pics of a pig roast I did with my son-in-law we used his grandfathers cooker I needed to learn it fast like while we were cooking. :)
Wipe the lens with a little extra virgin olive oil and they clean up nice afterwards.

Dang KAM....that pig looked dang good....should have took some pics of it cut open and ripe for the picking..... \m/
If you can't fix it by sheer force or cursing......then it can't be fixed.....
