fans like BBQ Guru for smoker control?

Just wondering what ya'll think about these computer controlled fans for long smoke control. I'm building a reverse smoker from a 200 gal propane tank and would like to know if this is a good investment. Currently I am useing a charbroiler with an offset firebox. when I smoke briskets i have to end up useing a box fan at the end to keep the temp up. I realize that this is a very small unit with a small firebox. Could that be my problem?

I know of several guys that use either the stoker or the guru. They all have nothing but good things to say about them.
Now I have never personally used one myself.

I can say, many times I have had to use the aux fan method to keep the fire going. Just recently I was in the middle of a cook about 3:30 am and the wind laid down. The only way to even keep the fire was to use a fan blowing into the firebox.

Stuff happens, at that point we have to adapt and overcome.
Now, had I been using a stoker I don't think I would have had any issues.
