since I finished the GF smoker and we are gonna be first time empty nesters I figured I needed a project and boy did I find one, my wife was really impressed when I brought this beauty home. Like anything one step at a time.

Those things are everywhere down here, all jacked up with big tires and shiny wheels. Did you buy a kit or are you fabricating your own parts ?

Being that it's a 1989 model there isn't much available as far as suspension lifts , i fabricated the front axle, suspension and discovered that 1971 Ford pinto shocks fit perfectly.

Might be just a couple more horsepower than the rear axle can handle , but I like the way you think! Besides this is one of the more unpopular projects at the moment, our kitchen is twenty years old if you know what I mean.Dirtytires wrote:Anything short of an old Chevy small block with efi conversion will leave you with regrets.....

Just put some shortened & resplined 9" axles in it, should make it bullet proof!Weldun wrote:Might be just a couple more horsepower than the rear axle can handle , but I like the way you think! Mine is worse, she wants to do the kitchen cause the colour is old & not "pretty" anymore, it's only 5 years old!!Dirtytires wrote:I feel you....don't let my wife meet yours. Mine wants the same thing for the same reason.

Well look on the bright side Squiggle, if you do end up building those smokers you spoke of you'll be able to put the profits toward a new kitchen.

There's a million other better things I could spend that money on, like another smoker!

Re: Golf cart project
The golf cart project is moving along nicely, need to get it done soon the boss says he wants to get some of the clutter behind pipe shop cleaned up and in that clutter is a 12' piece of 24" schedule 40 pipe. I feel a new project coming.

Re: Golf cart project
Nice, coming along nicely there. And with the sched 40 pipe... definitely a new project in the wings.
