Captain Tightwad's New Sawmill

Post by Miketheforester » December 21st, 2014, 4:07 pm

Been looking at getting a chainsaw mill but couldn't bare the thought of paying $200 for a Granberg mill after seeng one in person. I made 3, 2 20" models and one 32" model for around $20 total. Took a couple pictures after the test run today. Overall a pretty easy project.

That is pretty cool looking wood. Just some nasty old mulberry I had laying in my junk wood pile.

Its the $20.00 vs $200.00 that makes him special....

Hey Mike,

I love it....I tried re sawing once but my band saw gives me a rough time with tracking a thin slice. I have a lot of slabs of odd woods including some stuff that was used for logs to float freight on the Mississippi River decades ago.

Looks like you're gonna have a great supply of woodworking woods.

Make no mistake, there ain't no powder in this Puff ! And... I'm not really a crazy person but I play one in real life

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.
