Reverse Flow Baffle placement.

Post by draw1983 » March 17th, 2017, 12:01 pm

I am new to the Forum world and not even sure if this is where this should be. I am in the middle of a build and have gotten all the measurement from the calculator. The question I have is, The baffle plate does it go at an angle or does it sit level with the smoke chamber? Also has anyone built a smoker from just the measurements given by the calculator and had it draft as expected or do I need to buy prints?

Any help/advice is appreciated

I think most people put it level with the CC and then raise/lower the end away from the firebox to fine tune (trailer jack or whatever)

BB is correct, the BP sits level front to back and end to end and has a 2'' grease dam at the BP gap. I have used the pit calculator to build a few pits and they've always performed perfectly. I usually add about 5%-10% to the recommended FB size but I don't think that you have to add anything.
