Hey everybody!! My name is Eric Tanguay, originally from Boston (hence my username, it has been my nickname since boot camp so why not stick with it), transplanted to north west New Mexico.
I found this forum the beginning of the week, and the amount of information I see everyone so willing to share on here is just incredible!! I have already been spending a good amount of time scrolling through the info and I plan to spend a lot more in preparation for my next build. I built an UDS a few years ago, recently converted it to a cold smoker, and made another dedicated UDS. My next one will be a larger project though.
I plan to build a trailer mounted RF offset smoker. I was originally going to look for a used trailer, but based on what I am seeing here, I am better off custom building the trailer so I can make it the size I want, and to make sure it has a 3,500 lb axle under it, and to make sure the axle is positioned properly on the trailer. The smoker itself will be either a 250 gallon propane tank, or 26-30" pipe 1/4"-3/8" depending on what I can get my hands on. The smoker will be on the drivers side of the trailer with a prep table/storage on the passenger side of the trailer. Once I get either the pipe or the propane tank, which will hopefully be within the next month or so, is when I will really start to pick all of your brains. It will be a slow, but fun filled build!!

Sounds like a great build. Definitely agree on building the trailers sit seems to make a much more compact, safe, and functional unit.
Glad to have you and interested to see what you design.

Welcome, Boston. If you have any questions when you get started, all you have to do is ask. Chances are that someone will be able to help.

Thank you, I do appreciate it.
Farmington. About 30 minutes from Colorado, and about an hour to the four corners monument.
