What’s up y’all?

Post by DrewReb » June 3rd, 2018, 6:25 pm

Hey guys my name is Drew and I’m from Jackson, Georgia. I recently acquired a propane tank and I’m going to build a smoker. I’m here to get any help I can. I’m a rookie welder. I took a welding class in college and that was the last time I welded, 10 years ago. Any tips would be appreciated. I’m planning on racks in the cooking chamber and I’d like to build a warming box/ steam box on top of the fire box.Image

Welcome to the crew!

The main thing I recommend is use the calculator(s) as a guide for ALL the dimensions. Next is the doors should be cut 1” past 12:00 and 1” below 3:00 so you get the best out of it. I might even go with cabinet doors so you don’t have to lift them.

Just some ideas. Hey post a sketch and we will see what we can do to help.

Welcome to the board. Assume you know to fill the tank with water and a bottle of dish soap before you cut it....

Sure did. Filled and drained 3 times then added some dish soap for the final fill.
