New to the Offset world

Post by cjohnson28 » March 28th, 2018, 7:20 pm

I just got my first offset rig. I know the firebox is a overkill for the unit, according to the calc. Its currently not a reverse flow but i want it be, The throat opening is half of the tank 22". Duel exhaust with 4 1/2" pipes. I guess my question is it worth trying to rebuild it correctly?

Welcome aboard!! I'm not sure what kind of pit that you have but Smokerbuilder MFG makes several mod kits for some of the more popular brands. You can check them out at BBQsmokerMods.com.

It can be a little over whelming at first but you'll get the hang of it. What part of the country are you in ? There may be a member of the forum near you. If you post a few pictures of your pit some of the guys could help you determine the best options for you.

Learning generally boils down to "Repetition or the avoidance of pain", some people learn by doing, some by watching and some just have to pee on the electric fence.

Whether you think that you can, or that you can't, you are usually right. Henry Ford

I wish we could get all the Florida SmokerBuilder folks to meet in Ocala or something for a gathering.
