Thanks guys - I'll hold off and If I get to the point that I need to buy rather then recycle, I'll be sure to run it by the forum first.

I agree with TQ. I use 4" channel tho. way overkill but I like the looks. If you watch my builds I always wind up putting way more on the trailer than when I started the build. I need to build heavy LOL

Ok guys, I may get roasted on this one but here goes.

I think tubing is great, in the proper hands.

Meaning, any Joe Blow can run down and pick up a 110 mig. (and btw....theres not a thing in the world wrong with that )
But
When experince is lacking, nost likley fusion is too.!!!!!
Its real easy to lay down a nice bead that looks decent but sure lacks on penetration.

At least with angle, there is a chance that a guy may see the lack of fusion. (Maybe)

So I would have to vote, No tube for the amaturs. Please dont be offended, just stating my opinion here.

I do really like the idea of 3 or 4 inch channel. Even the channel is prone to twist but not near as bad as angle.

The other down side to tube would be for the ones that dont weld it up tight and forgets to drill drain holes, then you got fancy square tube with rounded centers if you live in a freeze zone.
Go Big or Go Home.....Thats what I say.

One of these days I want to learn to weld real good
