"Dream" build

Let's hear about your ideas for smokers and grills.

"Dream" build

Postby Smokeone » March 18th, 2012, 7:28 pm

Well I have finally started to build me a cooker! I know this duo named Frank and DC, and I ran my ideas by them. A few weeks go by and Frank, has come up with a "dream". Well it seems that this dream is better than my ideas, and will even work. So yesterday we all got together and the dream was put on paper. It seems Frank read my signature line and went with it!

Now I can't disclose the entire project yet, I will give some insight. We started with a 500 gal tank, with the bells removed. We will cut a piece out of another 500 and join the two. We will split the chamber in half, side to side, to create two equal compartments. So this is the progress so far:

We filled the second tank in prep for cutting

While waiting Frank cut the divider plate.

Then we started the cut in order to start the draining process.

Sorry for the little pics, i took them with my phone, i cant get them resized.

More to come shortly!

We had a little refreshment break
beer edit.jpg

it was back to cutting until the bell was removed and the tank cut in two
bell off.jpg

We then rolled the piece up to the original tank, and oh boy
two pieces.jpg

Then the rain set in, and we called it a day.
This is going to be alot of fun! I wont be able to say thanks enough to Frank and DC, but without them, this build wouldnt happen! :kewl:

I will keep you all posted as we go.

Sounds like the makings of a great rig.

Now you do realize that things just wont be right until you change the plan at least a couple times.
Go Big or Go Home.....Thats what I say.

One of these days I want to learn to weld real good
