Does your earth look like this

Post by BurnBern » July 25th, 2019, 8:30 pm

I went and helped a friend with a bit of welding on Monday. He pulled out his earth and went to clamp it to the work piece. Well needles to say when i saw it I was almost crying with laughter. I think he was a bit taken aback by the laughter and he said there was nothing wrong with it.

I then asked how was his welds were. He said he wasn’t very good with welding and I said no wonder look at that earth. We changed it out and his welding improved. No more bird poop welding!

So i was wondering what do your clamps look like?

Using it to strike first arc on a rod? Getting polarity wrong?

Probably using it to strike an arc... bad, bad, bad.

Oh my towtruck that is priceless... =))

A good ground helps make for a good weld.
