I resemble this pic. Just gotta love a good jib. Done this many times, but now I drive a stinking pickup.

Nice work.

I had to be my own rigger and had my 8 year old operate the handles. She is a natural.

2nd smoker......finally

Nutton wrong with that. My son had to run my digger one night working a broken pole on a storm. Couldn't get anyone else to come to work.

Ok I have a slight technical glitch. My firebox damper won't stay open. I don't think my spring is strong enough. I've been looking hard at the trampoline springs.

I'm gonna make a handle stop. I have it figured out. I cut my doors out. I'm pretty sure I'm cooking with gas. I'll leave you guys with this. Image

Been raining and holidays. Finally got a chance to work on cc door and it sprung. So I worked on the fb door. It's out if square. So crap. I won't make handles for it until I decide if I'm gonna roll with it or fix it. Now I have to figure out my sprung doors. I really hoped it wouldn't happen to me.

It definitely sucks when nothing is going right. Don't let it get you down, it happens to everyone every now and then.

You might have to step back and remember the steel is not smarter than you are, and there are equalizers like jacks and such to bend that stuff back into submission. :wrestlinchair:

When in doubt, use a hammer. The bigger the doubt, the bigger the hammer!

It is after all only steel. An inanimate object that given enough heat and force will bend to your will. Unlike wood which will mess with your mind all day. :bigfoot:

So when I take the chain and jack to my door I assume I'm going to bend the crap out of the flat strap I've already welded to frame the door out? Rule #1 don't weld anything 100% until you know it is absolutely where you want it.

You'll probably bend it a little but you can straighten it out when you get your door right.

Weld links of chain to the back side of the door to pull on.

12 ton jack and chain made quick work if the door. 30 minutes and about 6 tries and presto bueno.

Now on to door #2. Bending flat bar I snapped a cheap c clamp. I think I pooped a little cause it came flying at me.

Good times. Lol
