Well,not really,but he would have enjoyed them if he tried them!
Recipe makes 22 Pork Shots.
Ingredients-
1lb of any style link sausage (or brats)
1 package of cream cheese,room temperature.
1lb of thick sliced bacon.
Tooth picks.
Directions-
Cut sausage into 1/2" thick wheels.(how many is determined by how many slices of bacon you get in a package.Mine had 11 whole pieces that I cut in half, giving me 22 pieces of bacon to work with.Coincidently, the one package of cream cheese was enough for all 22 Pork Shots).
Cut bacon package in half.
Wrap 1/2 slice of bacon around sausage wheel.Keep sausage at bottom, leaving room on top to add cream cheese.
Use a tooth pick to secure bacon to sausage.
Spoon softened cream cheese mixture* into top of bacon.
Cook on indirect heat on grill of your choice or in oven,till bacon starts to crisp.
A word of caution.THESE ARE ADDICTING.
You might want to make a triple batch!!!
*The cream cheese mixture is what makes it your own.
I simply used cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese and my homemade rub.
Mixed them together and spooned the mixture into the top of the Shots.
You can use goat cheese and any other ingredients you want.
Chopped jalapeno and cream cheese?Yes!
Prefer to mix in cooked and crumbled sausage?Go right ahead!
Want to use spicy sausage and top with blue cheese? You CAN!!!
Make it your own.Add whatever you like or what's available in your area.
The possibilities are endless,JUST GO FOR IT!!!
